When I was a kid, the first superhero movie that was introduced to me was the movie 'Superman'. I had learned that he was born at the planet Krypton. He was rocketed down to Earth before his planet would be destroyed. Kansas farmers discovered him and adopt him as their own child. He was raised well, imbued with proper moral values. I was amazed because he was so strong. He is bullet proof, faster than a speeding bullet, able to withstand extreme temperatures, can fly, and he has a red cape. The name that was given to him suited his natural capabilities.
Judging from how his parents raised him, he discovered that he has to use his superpowers for good, equality, and justice. But change was inevitable. They say that change is the only permanent thing in this world. Will his pure heart remain constant?
As I was browsing the internet, I found an article entitled, 'Nietzche's Superman' written by Ana Knowles from the site, Personal Education. "Superman, according to Nietzsche has reached a state of being where he is no longer affected by "pity, suffering, tolerence of the weak, the power of the soul over the body, the belief in an afterlife, the corruption of modern values", she stated. In just a matter of time, when he's done with protecting people, he will later realize that why shouldn't he use his ability for himself? It is a possibility. People say, "I am not Superman". Do people dare to compare themselves with a person with exaggerated powers? or they're just pertaining to someone who is heroic? I am quite intrigued to when someone hears the word 'superman', it is always the good guy. I mean, no matter how extraordinary his powers are, fictionally speaking, he's just a human being with awesome superpowers. He can conquer the whole world with just a single desire. His body maybe bullet proof and is harder than a shining armor, but talking about inner personality, can he withstand people who judges him irrationally? Whatever you do, there are always people ready to judge you. It is based from my own experience.
Is humanity worth saving? He might question that one day and he might realize his superiority among normal human beings. If that will be the case, why do we have to have a super hero in our lives? maybe because for one simple reason, they model us to become better citizens after. Not everyday we see someone who takes the initiative to do the right thing. It left us a notion that a society without superheroes is a society without hope.

Why do we need superheroes? As for children, pretend play with friends using superpowers is not cute. It is bad for the children. There is a few warning signs that superheroes have contributed to children nowadays, one would be, they do not know their limits anymore. Second would be ignoring rules like such. They refer themselves as they have armor or shields or they are invulnerable like the ones that they idolizes. For example, eating vegetables, immortal super heroes leave a notion of invulnerability. Even if they do not eat vegetables, children will think that they will not get sick at all.
One who idolizes such 'hero' would think that as he grows older, he, too should become a defender from evil. But we are talking about super humans. Regular humans should not compare themselves with super humans. One good thing about the superman show is that he has a weakness and it is the kryptonite. It is just stated there that even person with extraordinary powers, even if they are invulnerable and immortal, they too have weaknesses that they shall overcome. Even the 'perfect' model that they refer, can be defeated in battle, leaving a notion of fear from the viewers.
