Blogpost #4: Super Heroes and Villains

In all of the epic movies that I have watched, like Spiderman, X-men, and many more, there have always been super heroes. Of course there will be because it is their movie after all. But, in the counterpart of that, meet the super villains. I mean, why can't there be an epic movie without a super villain? Why are there villains? 

I know that super villains were created so that viewers picture out that justice and the good guy always wins. Good cannot be defeated. But, it kept telling me a question, if super heroes are accidentally made, or they are born with super natural abilities and powers, is it a coincidence that super villains are accidentally made as well? If yes, what will happen if the super villain is finally defeated? Will there be a never ending flow of super villains in lined with the super heroes to encounter?

I read an article entitled, Would there be super villains without super heroes? by view2view in the site called, Comic Book Therapy. In the title itself, he mentioned that there would be no super villains if it is for the super heroes. One example of this is Venom, the arch nemesis of Spiderman. In times where they were seeking jobs as photographer, they already had conflicts with each other. And the conflict became a fight when Spidey, also known as Peter Parker, decided to take a date with  the girlfriend of Venom. The unknown specie that the meteorite has brought to Earth decided to find another host when Parker removed it from his body. And thus, Venom was born. If there was no Venom-Spiderman conflict after Secret wars, there would be no venom to speak of.

As for me, I think super villains were not created by super heroes themselves. It is natural to have a conflict with each other sometimes. Super villains were created for the benefit of the movies or comic books. It is made to have a balance in life. There was a 'super' hero, and now there is 'super' villain.

Now, the remaining question is the never ending flow of super villains in lined with the super heroes to encounter. As I was browsing the internet, I have found a book entitled, Beyond Good and Evil written by Frederic Nietzsche in the site called, Gutenberg. "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process, he does not become a monster. And when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you." he stated. In this article, it explains here that evil will continuously rise. It is a part of human nature. This statement says that, reality or fantasy, there are over seven billion people in this planet that we are stepping on and what matters most is that as villains rises, heroes will rise as well and heroes shall overcome.

Villains depicted a picture of injustice, sorrow, despair and anger. However, it leaves us a notion that life is not perfect. We can not just open our mouths and automatically be fed with any one else. Life is not fair. It never is.  But despite all of that, there is someone or something that helps us fight for survival. Don't dare to have a perfect life. Just make everything else perfect for yourself.
